Bowling for Charity

With a victory over the 2nd years in bowling last Friday, the 1st years have swept all three events of the Fall TOC season.

On January 27th, a group of students went to assist the Boys and Girls Club in Sacramento open their new playground.

In another successful philanthropy induced dopamine/serotonin buzz, the following people donated time at the B&G club and had a great time: Rani, Brent, Christine, Dave, Courtney, James, Jefferson and Matt Robinson.

On January 27th, a group of students went to assist the Boys and Girls Club in Sacramento open their new playground.
Where a parking lot was located for 15 years, several organizations worked for 5 years to build a beautiful playground.

"I'd like to give a special shout out to Prof. Elsbach for her lessons in team work.  Had we not been to Everest and back we would never got that damn tent built in time. Thank God Rani didn't succumb to AMS, Courtney forgot the air-tanks."  -Anonymous GSMer.

10 capable GSM volunteers rolled up their sleeves and went to work on building a shade tent. Putting it together wasn't the hard part, it was the putting-it-back-in-the-box that tested our wits.

After several rearrangements and some well placed stomps by Nevin's boot, we 'Managed' it to fit.  

 

The new playground has an outdoor basketball/soccer court with soccer goals behind the hoops. The jungle gym looked like a lot of fun.

Heitzmann kicked a rock and pouted when he was told he couldn't play until "the ribbon is cut".
